About the Architecture Virtual Exhibit
BS Architecture exhibit focuses on the graduating batch's thesis efforts.
The BS Architecture Design 9 and 10’s (Arch 199.1 and Arch 199.2 respectively) Comprehensive Design Project exemplifies a culmination - the learning and gained competencies in design and the other major subjects of UPCA's distinguished 5-year program.
This year’s theme revolves around the idea of what the architectural vision is in the urban realm - its contexts, unique conditions, challenges and opportunities. The students had the liberty to choose their urban locale in the Philippines, analyze their site’s ecological, social, political, cultural and aesthetic conditions, propose the agenda and devise different design approaches in the conception and final translations of their respective projects.
The output –
ARCHITECTURE that is
CONNECTS people with each other and with their space.
Message from the Architecture Faculty
Haraya is the yearly celebration of the best designs and projects of our students in UPCA. It started as “Pista Sa Arki” in the early 2000s, where the thesis students gather together and display their boards for a 2-day exhibition capped off with a simple dinner and program. Now, it has evolved into an institution-led week-long endeavor, a stage for discourse, giving more support and prestige to our students’ works.
This year’s Haraya is no different except for the platform. A non-contact on-line Haraya is actually blessing in disguise because this expands our reach throughout the globe. The fine works of our BS Arch Batch 2020 students are a testament of their commitment to the ideals of leadership and excellence of the University of the Philippines - and add the principles of resilience and resolve to that!
